DGMT – Innovation Director
DGMT is a dynamic node of public innovation that is dedicated to creating a flourishing society, economy, and people in South Africa. As a strategic investor and public innovator, DGMT supports and draws on the grounded innovations of civil society, incubates breakthrough strategies, engages in policy processes, and develops strategic coalitions and public advocacy.
We were tasked with finding DGMT an Innovation Director. After a rigorous headhunt, resulting in a longlist of fifty-one (51) candidates, we narrowed the list to eight (8); five (5) of whom were shortlisted on account of their core skills and expertise in Early Childhood Development, sound critical thinking, strategic skills, and excellent leadership skills.
Kentse Radebe was appointed. She is a passionate leader with a keen interest in the study of social stratification, focusing on the role that institutions and organizations play in advancing or reducing inequality. Her accolades include being a Senior Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity, a Mail & Guardian 2019 Top 200 Young South Africans award recipient, a Public Health Association of South Africa PHILA Emerging Practitioner Award winner, and a Fulbright Scholar and an Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellow.
