NGO Recruit has been exclusively retained by Slum Dwellers International (SDI) to lead the search for an accomplished Programme Manager.
Slum Dwellers International (SDI) is a grassroots, women-led movement that has been championing the rights and agency of slum communities worldwide for over 25 years. With a mission to elevate the voices, representation, and influence of over 1 billion slum dwellers, SDI aims to make cities more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. Structured as a global network, SDI unites 22 national federations of slum dwellers—19 of which are based in Africa—each encompassing tens or even hundreds of thousands of members.
The Programme Manager will be entrusted with leading, coordinating, and expanding impactful programmes that empower urban poor communities on a global scale. This pivotal role requires strategic direction in community outreach, management of local initiatives, and the cultivation of partnerships to ensure the visibility and advocacy of marginalized urban populations.
We seek an inspiring and experienced leader with a proven track record in relationship-building and community engagement, adept at navigating diverse cultural contexts, and highly skilled in programme management and donor relations.
