NGO Recruit is proud to partner once again with Slum Dwellers International (SDI) as they search for a new Senior Finance Officer.
Slum Dwellers International (SDI) is a grassroots movement led by women, empowering slum dwellers worldwide for over 25 years. It amplifies the voice, agency, and influence of the world’s 1 billion slum dwellers to improve their lives and make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. Organized as an international network, SDI comprises 22 national slum dweller federations (19 in Africa), each with tens or hundreds of thousands of members.
This is an exciting and challenging position with the responsibility to support the Finance Manager and work closely with the Finance Administration, other members of SDI Secretariat team and the Finance team on affiliates level. The role entails performing day to day financial accounting functions which include (monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet, preparation of monthly management accounts, preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual cashflow projections, payments), management of the payroll including statutory submissions, providing data for report preparation and data input for the SDI network Secretariat and Affiliates’ support in budgeting, financial accounting and reporting of assigned grants.
The ideal candidate must possess strong financial acumen, problem-solving, attention to detail and analytical skills, whilst being able to remain calm, focused and productive under pressure. The role requires being able to work independently as well as adaptability to working within a diverse, multi-cultural environment, excellent communication skills are an essential.
