South African Clinicians Society (SAHCS) – Chief Executive Officer
The South African Clinicians Society (SAHCS) is a membership organisation of over 10,000 healthcare workers with an interest in HIV. SAHCS strives to support and strengthen the capacity of its members to deliver high quality, evidence-based HIV prevention, care, and treatment services.
SAHCS sought an experienced leader with a passion for strengthening and supporting quality, comprehensive, evidence-based HIV healthcare in Southern Africa to join their team as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Following a comprehensive search within the healthcare community in South Africa, a longlist of seventy (70) candidates from the private and public sector was concluded. The top six (6) candidates were shortlisted based on their suitability to the specifications of the role and the organisation’s needs. Juliet Houghton, formally from the United Kingdom (UK) with an extensive background in nursing and HIV/AIDS was the successful candidate. Before joining SAHCS, she was the CEO for CHIVA South Africa. She is equipped with a wealth of in-depth knowledge and connections within the HIV/AIDS sector in Southern Africa and the UK.
