C40 Cities is a global network of nearly 100 of the world’s most ambitious city leaders, collaborating to tackle the climate crisis and build a thriving future for all. The Regional Director will play a critical role in leading climate action across sub-Saharan Africa, working closely with cities, mayors, and regional governments to drive meaningful engagement in global climate initiatives.
We are seeking a leader who thrives in uncertainty and complexity, with the ability to navigate dynamic environments and take on significant challenges. You will bring a deep understanding of global systems and work effectively with local governments across the region to establish strong operations and partnerships that lead to lasting change.
In this role, you’ll oversee the C40 Regional Business Plan, guide technical assistance programs, and support Vice Chairs and region-specific initiatives to maximize impact. Your strategic vision and leadership will shape the future of climate action, advancing innovative solutions and forging new pathways for success.
As Regional Director, you will mentor and empower your team, leveraging your diplomacy, expertise, and ability to influence others to create lasting change. Your work will elevate the region’s efforts and make a global impact on the climate agenda.
