We are proud to be supporting the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA) to recruit for two pivotal roles: Legal Manager and Language Justice Officer. These positions are integral to ISLA’s mission of driving transformative change and advancing justice across the African continent.
Established in 2014, ISLA envisions an Africa in which the human rights of all marginalised communities, particularly those affected by gender and sexuality-based discrimination, are fully realised. The organisation amplifies women’s voices and lived experiences through jurisprudence, challenges systemic inequalities, and reimagines power by centring feminist leadership and confronting patriarchal and class-based structures.
The Legal Manager will lead the development and execution of ISLA’s Network Development Strategy in Francophone West Africa. This role involves cultivating strategic partnerships, supporting institutional and capacity-strengthening initiatives, and managing key relationships to enhance legal mobilisation and litigation support across the region.
The Language Justice Officer will play a vital role in advancing ISLA’s regional impact by providing high-quality translation, interpretation, and administrative support. The Officer will also coordinate activities within the Feminist Litigation Network (FLN) project and contribute to strengthening ISLA’s presence and partnerships in Francophone West Africa.
